Popular family man, Belfast taxi driver killed by his own car during selfless act

Mr Brian Braiden, who had been a taxi driver for over 20 years died when he stepped out of his own car to close a customer’s gate, the vehicle rolled over him.

It was a tragic accident during a selfless act and took place in the Antrim Road area of Belfast, near the zoo, at approx 2.15pm Monday afternoon.

Brian of 50 years age, was a grandfather, who had four children, happily married to Carol, was very popular amongst family and friends. Everybody has been shocked and devastated by the incident.

Brian’s elderly mother, who lived across the road from the family has also been hit hard by the unexpected accident.

They lived in the Peters Hill area of Belfast.

Brian has been described by those who knew him as a helpful, neighbourly person.

The family funeral has been planned at home for Wednesday, 5th December. After which, there will be a service at the Roselawn Crematorium.
