Merseyside Taxi driver robbed and physically assaulted

A number of recent incidents have occurred for Cables Taxis whereby passengers have ran off without payment.

A few incidents led to physical assaults and harm of the taxi drivers.

There were a series of incidents which occurred on the nights from Friday and Saturday May 10-11 in areas such as Cowley Hill and Queens Park.

Passengers attacked and stole cash monies from the drivers, whilst others ran off without making any payments.

Police authorities have now formally charged a man after a one of the robberies and assaults.

The man arrested and charged is Dean James Kermode, 36, of Chamberlain Street, West Park.

He has been charged with assault and theft, as well as two separate offences of burglary.

Whilst, another 26-year-old man from St Helens is being investigated for non-payment and theft, and is on bail.
