Durban Taxi driver caught on New Years day with overloaded passengers
The local police in the city of Durban had a variety of roadblocks and inspection points to monitor motorist speeding and excess alcohol drinking during the holiday period.
During one of the inspection roadblocks, they discovered an overloaded mini-bus taxi. The taxi reviewed the number of passengers, and found that 36 individuals were on board instead of 13, the maximum number allowed.
Naturally, this number was deemed unacceptable and a violation of health safety rules.
The driver was detained and passengers offloaded.
During the holiday festive period, the police are out in large numbers to ensure proper policing and safety measures are undertaken in the community.
